5 minutes recipe: Cranberry Dressing

Gratinierte Rote Beete mit Cranberry-Dressing

A good dressing or sauce is the be-all and end-all for me when it comes to whether I really enjoy a salad, an appetizer or another dish or just find it ok. Because a good dressing emphasizes the aroma of the food instead of covering it up. It is like a perfume - it should flatter the wearer 😉 That's why I love this cranberry dressing so much - it is versatile and ready within 5 minutes.

Cranberry dressing: Fruity and subtle bitter notes

This cranberry dressing combines sour, fruity flavors with a subtle bitter note of the cranberry. It goes well with earthy vegetables, for example Beetrootto salads like rocket, endive or kale, but also to meat dishes like poultry, game or beef.

Ingredients (makes 1 serving)

  • 2 tsp cranberry jam, homemade (alternatively cranberries from the glass)
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Freshly ground salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp honey
  1. Cranberry jam (or my sugarfree alternative) Mix onions, honey, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper together.
  2. The dressing is kept in the refrigerator in a well-sealed jar for several days.
